more About Aunali

Aunali started his career as UI designer in New York city working for Scient Corporation which was one of the largest ecommerce consulting firms durin the dot com era. Between New York and San Fransisco, Aunali worked on projects for the Museum of Modern Art, Well Fargo Bank & the NBA.

In 2001, Aunali relocated back to Dar es Salaam and co-founded an Ebusiness consulting firm, “Daiichi” which later became featured in East African press and local press to have built one of the first Ecommerce sites in Tanzania.

In 2003, Aunali returned to California in 2003 to pursue an M.F.A in Media design. Under the mentorship of Brenda Laurel, Peter Lunenfeld, Anne Burdick and Phil Van Allen was introduced to the early phases of Design Thinking and in depth study of Interaction & Media Theory. Aunali’s thesis work used media design to bridge the gaps between inherited visual traditions and the technologized realms of commercial interaction. 

In 2005 Aunali joined Landor Associates in Dubai as Senior Designer for Branded Environments with a focus on the Seles Center design for the development of the world’s tallest building and largest mall ( Burj Khalifa ( Dubai) and Duabi Mall).

For Landor, Aunali also worked on project for Sudatel in Sudan, King Abdallah Economic City, Saudia Arabia, the National Bank of Kuwait and Iz Air in Turkey.

During period of 2007 – 2018., Aunali’s career shifted toward holding leadership roles in Commercial Management and Strategy.

Prior to relocating to Vancouver Canada, Aunali held the position of Country Manager for JCDecuax in Tanzania. JCDecaux is the largest global Outdoor Media Company.
